Tango Therapy provides people with PD an evidence based approach to increasing their quality of life through structured sessions at regular intervals.

In the past, patients with Parkinson's Disease were administered physical exercise such as walking, but studies carried out by the Department of Physical Therapy at Washington University in Canada suggests that the coordination in tango proves more effective than any other form of exercise.

This study states that "Long-term participation in community based dance exercise benefits people with PD. Socially engaging and enjoyable skill-based exercise may help promote long-term participation.
